This hands-on, in person sourdough workshop is being held at Main Street Art Collective (326 Main St, Danville VA) from 11am-1pm.
October 3rd, 2026.

Join us as we go through the steps of feeding your starter, making your dough, and several sets of "stretch and fold". By the end of this class, you'll have organic, minimal ingredient sourdough bread dough ready to rise with a suggested bake time for the following day. You'll also develop the skills to shape your dough, fold in inclusions, how to bake, and more.

The class fee includes:
-a healthy starter
- ingredients for you to feed that starter and to make your first loaf of bread
-basic tools and a recipe booklet.

Participants are asked to bring a quart sized glass jar to take home their starter.

A scale will be provided for use during the class, but it is highly recommended that you have one at home. Feel free to bring your own for the class as we will be sharing. It is also recommended that you have a dutch oven at home to use when baking your bread.

Additional info is emailed the week before the class. Be sure to check for a message from Make Mine Homemade!

*THIS IS AN IN-PERSON COURSE, NOT AN ONLINE COURSE. You must commit to attending the hands-on class at the date, time, and location above.
Fee is nonrefundable if your spot cannot be filled.

I have now made two loaves of Sourdough. Hopefully I will be able to keep it up and not kill my starter! I forgot to send photos

This is a great hands on class

This is a great hands on class. More than ample time for questions and one-on-one help with your dough. I had great results from the dough made in class and my 2nd batch. The class booklet include directions for keeping the "mother' healthy and simple recipes to try.
